This 2-hour Xian food tour starts at 6:00 pm. Meet your tour guide at the Bell Tower Hotel in the heart of Xian, and your guide will provide a brief overview of the evening’s itinerary. Then, you will be led through an underground passageway leading to Drum Tower Square in 5 minutes.
Note: If it’s not easy for you to find the way to get to the Bell Tower Hotel from your hotel, you can choose the option that includes a pick-up and drop-off (at an additional cost). In that case, there will be a local driver to pick you up from your hotel, drive you to the meeting place, and drop you back off when the tour is over.
Arriving at the square, this is a cultural crossroads that connects Xi’an’s ancient past with its vibrant present. The Bell Tower is a symbol of this city. There are other traditional Chinese buildings on the square, including the Drum Tower. As night falls, you can capture photos of these illuminated buildings.
Then, head towards the Muslim Quarter located just behind the Square. How busy and bustling it is! Yes, it’s always crowded from early morning to night. You will be dazzled by various stalls and amused at the vendors’ interesting hawking. Follow your guide to find your way in the crowds and learn the hidden stories about those unknown snacks.
When reaching the end of the main street, your tour guide will lead you to a small lane into Sajinqiao area where you will find the real delicacy including Roujiamo (Chinese Hamburger), Liangpi (Cold Noodles), Yangrou Paomo (Mutton and Bread Pieces in Soup), Biang Biang Noodle, Zenggao (Glutinous Rice and Date Cake), Suan Tang Shui Jiao (Hot and Sour Dumplings), Jiasan Guantangbao (Soup Dumpling).
