One-Day Xi’an Terracotta Warriors and City Tour

Your Xian day tour begins with a pick-up from your downtown hotel at 8:30 AM by our friendly English-speaking tour guide and skillful driver.

Then, you will be transferred to the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World” and one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the 20th century, the museum shows a surprisingly high level of sculpture. Witness the life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots that guard the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Get a glimpse of the rich history as your guide shares anecdotes about the discovery of this magnificent site. Enjoy approximately 2 – 2.5 hours to explore the different pits and marvel at the sheer scale and craftsmanship that went into creating these remarkable terracotta figures.

After the visit in the morning, have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Your guide will happily provide recommendations based on your preferences. In the afternoon, you can choose 1-2 attractions to explore in Xi’an’s downtown, depending on your interests and available time:

Ancient City Wall: Built in 1370, it is the best-preserved and largest ancient city wall in the world. In the old times, the City Wall functioned as military defense. Travelers can optionally ride a bike on the wall to have a special experience here.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda: This is a place to worship Buddha. It was originally built to keep the figures of Buddha brought back from India by the famous Buddhist master Xuanzang in the Tang Dynasty.

Bell & Drum Tower Square & Muslim Quarter: Located in the very center of Xian City, they are symbols of Xian. Muslim Quarter is a famous food street in Xian where you can find many authentic local snacks and handicrafts.

Great Mosque: The great Mosque keeps its original Muslim style and meanwhile absorbs some Xian local elements. It’s a good place to learn Muslim culture in Xian.

Huaqing Hot Spring: This place is a royal hot spring and garden for Xuanzong Emperor and his favorite concubine Yang Yuhuan in the Tang Dynasty.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda: This pagoda is a free attraction located in the busy downtown but keeps itself in peace and quiet. (closed on each Tuesday)

Xian Museum: Although it’s not as big as Shaanxi History Museum, it has lots of rare historical and cultural relics. It is still free and less crowded. (closed on each Tuesday)

Yongxingfang Street: On this street, you will find delicious local food and interesting traditional Chinese stuff such as ink sticks, paper, and writing brushes. You will also see how some foods are made in traditional ways.
